Not that we have a wireless... or ever shall!

As the preacher continued vigorously to denounce the radio programme, he began to sense that some of the congregation were beginning to suspect that he perhaps knew just a little too much detail for comfort. "Not that we have a wireless", he assured his hearers, underlining his protestation of innocence with an emphatic "or ever shall!"

I am convinced that the reason why the Pharisees get so much air time in the Gospels is that we are prone to be just like them.
